Hair news + Taylor Swift = somewhat relevant to TBC

A friend of mine tipped me off (with the link above) to the fact that my long lost twin, Taylor Swift, now has straight hair (gasp!).

So the question is, do straight haired Taylor and curly haired Katy look enough alike for me to still be asked upteen times a day, “Does anyone ever tell you you look like Taylor Swift?” Or, better yet, would straight haired Taylor and straight haired Katy look enough alike for people to draw the connection at all? How much of a factor is the curly hair in our doppelganger-ness?

Somebody at the salon is giving me a blowout soon so we can answer these pressing questions. Will update with further research.

Help us make 50 people smile this Christmas!

We’re helping the Lokahi Giving Project fulfill 50 wishes (or more if we can!) submitted by those less fortunate in our community. Starting tomorrow (12/10), come to the salon and pick out a wish you’d like to grant. These wishes range from Walgreens gift cards to t-shirts to toiletries and more. There is something for everyone’s price range. Some wishes can even be purchased in-store (like shampoo, conditioner, etc) for added convenience, and the other wishes can all be purchased at stores within a short walking distance from The Black Cat.

We are the ONLY Lokahi Drop-Off point in Kailua, so PLEASE spread the word and help us meet our goal!

This Sunday, we were honored to help Paul Mitchell raise over $1400 for the Challenged Athletes Foundation at the Nissan Xterra Trail Running World Championship. It was an amazing day!

The little things.

This morning, I discovered you can see TBC on Google Maps. I was so excited!!! Granted, the place looks a bit different now (new fence, no more kisses/hugs/tic-tac-toe on the windows), but it’s so cool to see us out there in the world, existing. Even after 6 months, it’s a great feeling. Especially after 6 months.

I’m just glad someone didn’t see the Google truck and decide to run out and moon it or something. Not that anyone at TBC would ever do that. Never.
